Anchorage is the largest city of the state of Alaska and also the city borough of the state of Alaska, US. The city is served by Ted Anchorage International Airport situated four miles (6 km) from the business center of the city of Anchorage. Anchorage has served as the major stopover for passengers flying to East Asia till 1980s since US and Western Europe Aircraft were not allowed to fly over Soviet airspace. This practice is continuing till now though now flights can fly over Soviet airspace. Thus at present, some aircrafts bound for Asia and Eastern US stop over Anchorage.
The majority of the passengers to this airport travel by Alaska Airlines; the airport is the second hub of the airlines after its main operation base at Seattle. But Alaska Airlines do not ply direct flights from Anchorage to Orlando. Though the airlines has a base in the Ted Anchorage International Airport, in order to fly to Orlando from Anchorage one has to go to Seattle and from there take a connecting flight to Orlando.
Alaska airlines has its primary base at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and a second base at Ted Anchorage International Airport. And the airlines has as one of its destinations, Orlando International Airport. Thus in order to go to Orlando from Anchorage, one has to go to either of the following US cities and from there take a connecting flight to Orlando. These cities include:

- Cordova, Denver [seasonal]
- Dillingham
- Fairbanks
- Honolulu [seasonal; begins December 9]

Another international airport that serves the city of Orlando is Fairbanks International Airport. Like the other airport of the city of Anchorage, this airport is served mainly by Alaska Airlines. The airlines again does not ply flights from Anchorage to Orlando and one has to fly down to Seattle and from there take a connecting flight to Orlando.
